Fund Raising Quilt 2008 Update

Our fundraising raffle quilt is now hanging at Quilt & Fixin's, in Jonesboro.  If you have not had a chance to see it, please do so. Thank you Jeanne, for allowing us to display the quilt.   It is a beautiful quilt and hopefully, will give you the incentive to buy and sell more raffle tickets.

Ladies, please note:  If you attend a show and help sell, any raffle tickets please put your name on the line:  sold by_____________.  You are using your personal time to help out, show the quilt and sell tickets.  Therefore, you will receive credit for the ticketss sold.  So........ladies, here is your opportunity to enjoy a show, help out, and sell raffle tickets and get credit for it.  I count and keep record of every ticket stub returned to me. We might be giving you the $25.00 gift certificate for the most tickets sold at the end of the year. Now is the time to sign up.  (The raffle tickets sold at the show are at the tables. You do not pick them up from me. You pick up from me only the raffle tickets you will sell to your friends, neighbors and family.)  Pick them up from me, sell them and then turn in the money.  Come see me and let's make this a very good year in stewardship.  Let's keep the costs of the the community projects and classes down.

Thank you.

Fund Raising Quilt 2007 update

The winner of the 2007 Raffle Quilt is Kenny Cosby, son of our Guild member, Clementine Cosby.  (Heard thru the grape vine that Cleme was keeping the quilt until her son marries, then she will turn it over to him).  Cleme kept forgetting to turn in her raffle stubs.  She finally got them to me a week before our drawing.  There were 1,971 raffle stubs.  Members turned in 1,625, (includes the raffles they sold at the shows).  Peachtree Library turned in 196, Heritage Quilt Shop turned in 78, Quilt & Fixin's turned in 66 and we had a guest who turned in 6 stubs.  Congratulations Cleme you were one out of 1,971 raffle stubs.  Our January 2007, starting balance was $273.00.  Collected in 2007 was $1865.00.  Our December 2007 Raffle Quilt Fund balance is $2138.00; 62% of our Guild members supported our raffle fund.

At our January meeting, the Guild presented a gift certificate of $25.00 (to Quilt & Fixin’s) to Rhonda Hawkins who sold the most raffle tickets - 168 raffle tickets.  Our co-presidents Lynn Fraas and Mary Matorell each sold 152 raffle tickets, Julie Sanchez sold 92, Evelyn Holmes sold 81, Judy Balek sold 79, Edie Laster sold 72 and Gretchen Caola sold 54.
